All Gasfins high performance fins are manufactured using resin transfer moulding techniques adapted for cavity moulding. A dry lay up of 2, 4 & 6 ounce fibreglass cloth of various shapes are sandwiched around a honeycomb performance core mat, (soric) which also aids the flow of polyester resin through the fin mould.
This performance core mat reduces the weight of each fin but still retains the characteristics of fibre-glass and gives the fin an impressive finish. The fibre-glass cloth is trimmed and laid in the mould to achieve the identical flex pattern for each fin in a set and the performance we wish to achieve. In comparison to hand moulded fins which notoriously have air-bubbles and varying flex patterns, our fins have a uniform flex pattern with an excellent transparency, void of any visible air bubbles.
